This is a beautiful and poignant film. It is unbelievably sad. One very special and spiritual little boy is baptized, in fact subsumed, into Christianity, at which point he loses his own spiritual powers. To me this is the whole aboriginal story of Australia, marked by a tragic misunderstanding of aboriginal spirituality, all told through the lens of one small boy. It is magnificent.
