Like a gothic gargoyle on the side of a building, Stranger Things has many mysteries to be unraveled. One of the first mysteries is created right off the bat in the first scene of the series when the U.S. Department of Energy Building, which seems to have more going on than an ordinary citizen would know is illustrated in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. The mysteries don't stop there we are introduced to a Dungeons and Dragons loving squad of friends that just leaves the viewer to wonder what they could have to do with this mundane government agency.
These first few scenes perfectly depict the rest of the series which is full of twists and turns and cliffhangers that will leave you constantly checking to see if the new season has come out yet or not. Stranger Things forges its path in creating monsters no one has ever seen before and setting up an entirely different apocalyptic scene than viewers are used to seeing compared to the typical zombie show. The mixing of fantasy and the real world is flawless and attracts all kinds of viewers. Whether it be the connection made to Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin's favorite pass time Dungeons and Dragons, or the relationship between Nancy and Steve, Stranger Things has it all.
The Duffer Brothers' four seasons and counting series, of the journeys of teenagers from a small town into another world is everything a viewer could ask for and more. It is a quintessential series with well-chosen actors and strange right to its core. If it was meant to be like any other series out there it would be, but through the creative minds of the Duffer Brothers, the viewers are met with a series that is one of a kind.
