Lets get one thing out of the way, I love the Last of Us in general because of the story line and emotions throughout the story. It made you feel for characters throughout the story. That being said, The Last of Us 2 was the biggest letdown in 2020 to the point that I could not finish the game and probably never will for multiple reasons. First, the story line was absolute garbage and is the main reason to why I haven’t finished the game. The way Joel die was the least expected and worst way a character you love and care about die. Also his writing was sloppy and poor. Making his character dumb to lead to his demise and basically rewrite his entire character. Another thing is that the thing that made me quite the game in the first place is that you are forced to play a character that killed your favorite character for most of the game which sucks. I get it that you are trying to feel bad for her but they did it so wrong and even wrote her character bad because she left two witnesses alive to come after her. Also the false advertisement for being a Joel and Ellie adventure went out the window because you killed him for the first two hours. The only story line I liked is the flashback sequences because it reminds me of the game I was hoping to pay for but got trash instead. The pace of the game is inconsistent and became boring to a point that I had to take breaks because I was bored. All together I would not recommend buying this game and I like to pretend this game never happens. I like to think Joel die protecting Ellie and Ellie killed everyone that is involved in Joel death to then have her happy ending or they live happily ever after.
