I reacted at first to the multiple viewpoints as it was confusing. Glad I stuck it out as it was a good story. It reminded me of Madame Bovary.

Enough cannot be said about James McBride’s talent. I loved The Color of Water (non fiction) and the Miracle at St Anne’s. This novel is wonderful! He creates such vivid characters and I become so involved in their stories!
