So being a big fan of horror and psychological thrillers, I'm always looking for the next film that gets me thinking or has my hairs standing up. Well, Hereditary certainly delivered. Although it takes a while to get to the eventful parts, the first half of the film is filled with story and unsettling scenes that have you questioning everyone characters mental health. I had to pause the film several times and take a short break so I could regain my composure and stop myself from feeling as though I was about to have a panic attack. I had absolutely no idea what to expect and when I believed I'd had the plot all sussed out, I was quickly proven wrong in my beliefs. Not very often you come across an unpredictable horror anymore. Hereditary sets the bar for any new horror in the future and I'm going to be telling every single person I know about this film. Absolutely fantastic. I'll be walking into every room and checking the ceilings beforehand from now on.
