Was cautiously optimistic about The Wheel of Time and it seems I was right to be cautious as my optimism was misplaced. What will it take for screenwriters and directors to more than skim read the summary of a book series before adapting it?
When will they stop with the inane character and plot changes? Their removals, changes and additions only take away from the meticulously crafted world and story of the late Robert Jordan.
Watching this has made extremely apprehensive for any future adaptations of my favourite book series, because the only thing I can think about now is how are they going to butcher those.
The 1-star I can give this is earnt by the fact that the casting and scenery isn't terrible, and the acting is generally decent, so good job actors and actresses.
It's rare for long series to be greenlit for TV/movie releases, and this was a waste of opportunity to make it right. Will not bother with episode 2. What a travesty. What a disgrace. What a shame.
