you ppl gotta stop acting like seeing a gay character is going to “make ur child gay”…. it’s not. no one is pushing any “agenda,” it’s simply showing acceptance of a normal thing. you cannot complain about a 16 year old having feelings for someone of the same gender, and then say “i’m going to stick with the classics.” what classics do not involve young people being in love? i’m pretty sure characters like Mulan are 16, and other characters like Jasmine are even younger. no one complained about them being in love with anyone. you are not trying to “protect your kids”… you are just being homophobic. get over it. this movie had such a cute story with so many funny jokes. do not listen to the homophobes in this comment section making it seem like it’s going to traumatize your child. it is genuinely such a cute movie. also the complaints about interracial couples? hello? do you go outside? cry me a river. you live under a rock. and complaining about the “what 16 year old doesn’t want to see their parents smooch” line? have you never heard of sarcasm? or are you just ignoring it cause they are interracial. lmk AND FOR PPL COMPLAINING ABT TAN CHARACTERS? u wanna talk about a movie preaching love and acceptance being harmful, yet you openly complain abt poc representation? please tell me how that makes any sense. i genuinely don’t understand how that is a complaint. the way “tan characters” is even on peoples list of concerns shocks me to my core. saying “i want to talk about being gay to my kids when they are older” is so absurd to me. you are making it seem like you’re talking about something inappropriate, like “the talk.” you’re making it weird, not gay people. stop making it seem like people living their lives is ruining yours. leaving a complaint about a movie showing acceptance under a literal children movie? insanity. heaven forbid representation is shown in a movie! amiright… bye. people complain about anything. my entire family loved it, including my 7 year old brother. i highly recommend this movie for families searching for something to watch on movie night.
