More like Castlevania: Riverdale for me.
The animation and voice acting are as good as ever. What it lacks is any of the wit, gravitas, humour, or character depth and chemistry of the original series.
I hope however that it does get a second season, as the setting is interesting and there is room for an intriguing story here. Right now however, it is sorely missing Warren Ellis' writing, especially when new writer Clive Bradley appears to have little to no previous fantasy/horror writing credits and it shows.
