The show is equal parts funny, charming and humorous while also doing the serious parts really well. I dont think there are many shows of the 2000s that did the psychological and mental aspect of a crime thriller so well. And you can see it on full display fron both the protagonist Patrick Jane and his arch nemesis in Red John. Simon Baker and Robin Tunney, hats off to you. That pair had great chemistry and mixed it up really well.
