Jeff thinks people in Miami are surprised that they live on a swamp, who cares. The book is focused entirely on Miami, yet there are thousands of miles of coastline. And fails to even mention the hundreds of rivers that feed into the oceans. Three inches or eight feet, either way, no one cares. Poor in Africa and EVERYWHERE ELSE have always lived in the most hostile environment, big surprise! Venice is sinking, another big surprise for a city that started out on water. Eighty years is a whole different world away. Had you told people in 1915 that two world wars were going to kill dozens or perhaps hundreds of millions, or that communism would sprout and kill hundreds of millions and fail in less than 80 years, or gays will marry, who'd listen. Climate change is exactly that. The weather will do whatever it wants. STOP wasting money on idiotic solutions. Problems always have solutions. Chicago was built on a swamp, they raised the entire city. Jeff Goodell wasted his time and mine!
