As someone who was raised with the Spongebob shows and movies, this movie greatly disappointed. I could barely finish the movie. It's too cringe. The Spongebob series and movies back then were exceptional and the humor was charming and appealing for both adults and kids. I was surprised that I was cringing at something Spongebob related, but this movie killed that Spongebob charm and replaced it with NPC cringe, it feels like a kids show in the worst way possible. It feels empty and the theatrics are difficult to sit through. Forget about the content and story of the movie, which honestly, don't even get me started, the execution of this story is terrible. This movie doesn't compliment the Spongebob franchise at all. Visual appeal, animation, color and original voice acting are the only things worth giving a star for.
