This is by far the most unrealistic mystery series I've ever been so unfortunate to watch. So many things in this series make absolutely zero sense, but the fact that this series got 3.7 on Appletv+ and 70% by RT proves that the public really can be impressed by just about anything.
One thing that doesn't make sense was why this boy thought it would be "cool" to take a knife to school. In what universe is it ever ok to take weapons to school? Also, the way Jacob talks to his parents as if them showing concern for him is annoying and inconvenient to him, (not to mention his lackluster reaction when his mom told him that their going to Mexico for vacation, I swear, this boy takes everything for granted) and they should only speak to him when he says so.
How in the Hell does everyone just unanimously decide that Jacob is any level of guilty? because he went to school with the deceased? Because of a single fingerprint? I get that Jacob lacks common sense, but a fingerprint shouldn't be the sole determining factor, and its really f*cking weird that the detectives would rather pin this on another child than investigate a well-known child predator.
Another thing that made no sense was when the father threw the knife away. Every single time the father did something suspicious, he would automatically defend his actions. That knife could've cleared his son's name, but he'd rather do things on his own in the hopes that his family remains unscathed.
How f*cking petty is the prosecutor to insist repeatedly that murder is a trait that can be inherited? That whole time, I knew what his angle was, and he did it very well, but it just looked like he was grasping at straws, which was pathetic to watch. There was never any irrefutable proof that Jacob did it, so I don't even understand how those implications were allowed in court.
tbh, this show is so so dumb. Stopped watching during the 5th episode. Wish i could give this series 1\4 of one star. My eyes need holy water cause this wasn't it. Please don't waste your time watching this.
