I enjoyed it but why does everyone cry all the time.... I have never watched a series where the characters cry with so many tears and moan and whinge. haha

Sit back and relax, I am so glad there is a movie we can just enjoy without needing more. Great acting from everyone involved. People shouldn't rate this movie against one which is complex or with a twist, we don't want to be challenged every time we want to see a movie. I loved it.

What an absolute disappointment. The original Color Purple is a masterpiece that is impossible to forget. This unnecessary version can't be taken seriously and I wish I can forget I even went. I would like my money back and I want to be paid for time I lost watching this frivolous musical. The acting and singing were excellent but the alterations in script and the way the subject matter was simplified and glossed over diminished the original message. I give this 1 star because I couldn't give it less.

I personally found this a disappointment. The storylines has so much potential but I found some of the raw material distracting and off putting.

Wow, thank you Brooke for being so strong. Your story is so candid and I lost myself in your journey. We all reflect on our own stories when we are shown such a raw, realistic life. Thank you again for being authentic! So delighted to watch the mature discussion around the family dinner table. Your husband was so respectful. You listened to your daughters opinions without judgement and celebrated your motherhood. How proud you must be of yourself and your family. I highly recommend watching this expertly edited doco on a living legend, Brooke Shield.

This movie had potential but was lost in the casting and script. J Lo is awful. Pity. It would have been okay with a better actress. Nothing about her performance was believable. I skipped through the movie just to get to the end.
