It’s a good enough movie, well acted with beautiful cinematography but the ending ruined it for me. I love this book, I love the happy ending, happy for all of them. I know Louisa May Alcott never married and lived a somewhat grim, poor existence but it’s Little Women not a biography of Louisa May Alcott. It does highlight the way women were treated and their lack of civil rights specifically Amy’s speech about a woman’s “place” and standing in the world and that even any children she might have would belong to her husband. I didn’t understand the jumping back and forth in time, muddled the story. Lots of big names though, certainly worth a watch.
