The movie was good. But that's about as great as it gets. Go for the nostalgia, maybe even splurge a little to see it in IMAX (seriously, the CGI is amazing), but if you want something that'll blow the 1994 version of the Lion King out of the water... Go watch the 1994 version.
The experience for me was like when you go to a new restaurant and you see familiar things in the menu, so you think you know what you're getting, but it turns out to be not at all what you expected... It's the same but also completely different.
In all honesty, Seth Rogan as Pumbaa and Donald Glover as Simba were probably the most well done characters. Not to bash on Beyonce, but she didn't really do anything for me...
The movie felt too "serious" and not as fun (or funny) as the 1994 version.
