Empuraan - A Disappointing Political Drama Masquerading as Entertainment:-
People are fed up with daily news channels and newspapers that constantly divide society in the name of Dharma. They turn to movies seeking a break from this toxic narrativeโsomething entertaining and refreshing. Unfortunately, Empuraan fails miserably in this aspect by bringing the same divisive storytelling to the big screen.
Empuraan turned out to be a massive letdown, completely failing to live up to the hype that was deliberately created to fool the audience. The movieโs core is nothing but a political agenda wrapped up in fancy visuals and shallow dialogues. Murali Gopyโs third-rate political play is evident throughout the script, and it feels like the entire movie is just a platform to push his political thoughts rather than deliver a quality cinematic experience.
The most tragic aspect of Empuraan is how Mohanlal, a legendary actor with immense screen presence, has been completely wasted. There are no impactful dialogues or mass moments that one would expect from a movie of this scale. Itโs disappointing to see how Prithviraj and Murali Gopy have shamelessly used Mohanlalโs stardom to pull the crowd, only to push their half-baked political narrative.
Prithviraj Sukumaranโs direction lacks the depth and clarity needed for a movie of this magnitude. Instead of focusing on a solid storyline, the film tries to blend half-truths into the mainstream, leaving the audience confused and frustrated. The movie is neither entertaining nor thought-provoking; itโs just a poorly executed political drama hiding behind the grandeur of Lucifer.
Overall, Empuraan feels like a forced sequel that lacks substance and purpose. The team behind it has clearly underestimated the audienceโs intelligence, assuming that mere hype and controversy would carry the film to success. Unfortunately, itโs nothing but a forgettable experience that fails to do justice to Mohanlalโs stature or the expectations set by Lucifer.
