*Should be labeled a Dark Comedy.
Aardvark (2010) is a low budget slow burn crime flick. The main protagonist is a blind guy who starts getting jujitsu lessons from a teacher with a questionable side hustle. The film meanders a lot and spends a lot of time just siting with the characters. But when the lights start flashing in the third act with aftermath of a murder and the introduction of an eccentric detective, narrative and imagery begin to pick up pace and excitement. Ultimately, the film leaves more questions then resolved answers with an abrupt and unexpected ending, but let's hope the director (Kitao Sakurai) chooses to make more stuff like this alongside his more well known stuff like "The Eric Andre Show". All in all, very mature for a debut film and worthy of 3 bucks.
