Personally I think it is a great film. There’s never a dull moment. The music keeps you engaged. The lighting keeps you in suspense. I get a musical isn’t for everyone, but if you leave your biases at the door then you can enjoy this movie for the nice job that it does. Yes, it doesn’t really follow who joker and Harley are supposed to be in the comics and previous adaptations. However like I said before if you leave your preconceptions in the lobby, then you can enjoy this film for the new direction that it attempts to drive home. All honesty this film reminds me of the Shawshank Redemption. Very dark. Not a lot of hope but the music helps the hope be seen and felt. And I’ll state the facts even though Shawshank bombed in theaters it is considered one of the best films by the big movie rating giants. So like I said if you give the film a chance for a new direction that you may not be used to, then you can have a great time.
