This is supposed to depict a young, emotionally abused mother's plight in trying to escape from gradually escalating violence perpetrated by the father of her toddler. While that is the subject matter on display, I just don't buy all the things this story depicts, nor the protagonist's subsequent behaviors and reactions. Ditto to all the negative reviews that point out various unrealistic plot points and bland acting. And contrary to most reviewers, I didn't enjoy Andie Macdowell at all, which surprised and disappointed me. Her character was way overdone and just off, like it was from some other show entirely. It was weird.
Idk... If you're into tragedy porn and enjoy watching a "pretty" young white girl, with the same facial expression throughout, make dumb choice after dumb choice and turn away from every source of real help that magically comes her way (despite having a super cute and unrealistically well adjusted 2 year old in tow), then have at it. After 4 episodes, I'm out.
