I had no particular expectations for this movie, nor do I follow the director or actor Vijay closely. However, I noticed numerous references to other franchises, seemingly mocking their efforts, all for the sake of self-indulgence in certain scenes. The songs, as well as the presence of the female dancers, felt completely out of place and unnecessary. Additionally, the cameo appearances by certain characters seemed forced, as though their sole purpose was to surprise the audience, attempting to make their presence feel like a natural conversation between the actors—but it just didn’t work.
Midway through the movie, I found myself questioning why it was even titled the way it was. I initially thought it might be a nod to old hit moments, and while there are elements that resonate with the story, it didn’t have a significant impact on me as a viewer.
The decision to have the same actor play two roles also felt self-serving, as if the intent was to showcase the actor as both victim and villain. Although the story is entertaining and versatile, it feels like there was no extra effort put into truly elevating the narrative. In fact, it seems as though they tried too hard to do too little, while adding unnecessary elements that detracted from the overall experience
