I don’t understand how anyone could speak highly of this movie. The highlights in the trailers are the only parts of this movie that were interesting in this garbage movie. I am so disappointed. Let’s start with all the plot holes in this. I feel like the movie had the potential to be amazing but they spent way too much time trying to be artsy with the camera angles and trying to create a build up that was so anti-climatic. There is a story in there somewhere but they leave it unfinished. Nicolas Cages character is far from scary. He’s just annoylingly creepy and tried and failed too hard to be a menacing character. Massive cringe with the maniacal singing and over the top heavy breathing dialogue. All of this and we know absolutely nothing about his character. No real backstory or why he does what he does. Not even a speculation. As for the rest of the characters, we know the bare minimum on them as well. There is so much missing in this movie that it severely lacks any substance. Watching it was a waste of time I’ll never get back.
