So many people talking about this album as it wasn't enough "floydian" for them, just because it was practically a solo album by Waters. So it was The wall, and also DSOM, Wish you were here, and Animals. Pink Floyd just isn't Pink Floyd without Waters. And it is actually quiet easy to see this. Take, for example, Amused to Death, and compare it with any of the albums that came out "by Pink Floyd" after Waters, as A momentary Lapse of Reason, and The Division Bell, which might have a few valuable songs, but can't even be compared to other albums by Floyd, like Meddle, and everything that goes from DSOM to The Final Cut. Even the name was premonitorious of an end. And it is a real gem, with a strong message against the Malvinas War. At some point, you can hear Waters talking about "disappearing", as if Waters knew something about what was going on in Argentina at that time, with the fascist dictatorship disappearing people, beating tied people, raping womans, and kidnapping their babies. I don't really know at which extent Waters was aware of that, but as an Argentinian I really appreciate that he kept his antiwar message to the extreme of sustaining it, even by having to leave one of the greatests bands in all time, that he actually was fundamental for its creation, and the creation of Pink Floyd masterpieces .If this album had such a bad press, it is because Waters defied the great merchandising he has actually invented, through his genius, and his authenticity. And that was clearly cut after he left the band.
