I just finished the book, and I give it a 1/4... I don’t understand the hype around it. While it initially focuses on appreciating life and reflecting on death, narratively it’s very limited and repetitive. Yes, you already know from the start that the purpose of the book is to value life, but this theme is reiterated in every interaction. It doesn’t explore other topics; even with each new character, they only serve to reinforce the idea of regret and the desire to live, instead of delving into different themes. In conclusion, it’s a monotonous book. It has a "story" that gets stuck on its main message without exploring how that idea could branch out in new directions.
