Love this show. Barry has been ruled by Kim all along, I don't think most of their rules have anything to do with his beliefs they are all about what Kim wants, and what Kim wants is to control everyone. When she can't do that she puts her foot down and doesn't care about the consequences. She does not house work, no teaching, no real mothering, she is about the fakest person I have seen on any show. You can tell from the very first episode she is performing for the camera and trying to look like a good person and great mother but nothing is further from the truth. She is a horrible mother, horrible person who is self centered and only cares about her children when they aren't following her rules. Using Ethan's bank account for her personal use, taking his money and telling him she was investing it or whatever BS she was telling him because she knew he would never question her. WOW!!
She makes the girls do all the housework, take care of each other, Lydia does all the duties of a mother, cooking, cleaning, laundry while Kim does nothing. After getting Barry to spend his retirement savings on a dance studio for her, she decided she was so unhappy with the life she created and she decides to leave him expecting at first for Barry to be the one to move out. When the kids step in and say she should be the one to leave she moves to the dance studio and complains because everyone is upset with her. After all the years of doing everything (nothin in my opinion) they should have more respect for her but now Barry is their hero. She then goes on to start dating her son's boss before she is even divorced, bragging about it on camera, embarrassing her poor kids. Going against every rule she has made them follow their whole lives. This woman is about the worst mother I have ever seen. She manulipates everyone in that family that will let her and can't understand why anyone would be upset with her and not want to have a relationship with her. The rest of the show is great, I like all the kids and find them to be interesting to watch as they grow up and find their place in the world. I like Barry and believe he deserves to find someone who actually loves him because Kim certainly doesn't and probably never did.
