A script so bad and lazy, even actors as decent as Rosamund Pike struggle to breathe life into it. Young leads employed more for looks than acting ability. Honestly finding it a painful watch despite really wanting to enjoy it. I'm sure the source material/original books are great, but this just clunks along, tonally confused. Compared to series like The Last Kingdom (daren't mention GOT, would be insulting to it), it feels like a pale imitation. Is it me, but even the image quality looks bad half the time, perhaps to hide the less than grade 'A' CGI. Sorry for sounding so negative, I'm struggling to see the positives.
