If you have read the book I strongly do not recommend watching this movie. As someone who read the book this is a butchering of what could have possibly been one of the greatest sci-fi franchises of its time. The character development is little to none the story is fast paced and skips so many important plot lines, it is also missing so many subtle intricacies that made it a fantastic and memorable book. Even as a stand-alone movie the story is not fully fleshed out and too fast paced to gain any sort of attachment or feel any sympathy towards these characters. Skip the purchase or the time it takes to download and go rewatch StarWars instead.
