I watched the whole thing because I was genuinely interested in the story behind everything that was happening, but to be honest the plot reveal was incredibly anticlimactic. Toni Collette was the only thing to save this show. Leila was the MOST annoying person to watch. Her view kept flip flopping between hating and loving the school, and she was a stereo-typical angsty rebellious teen. The acting was subpar and the relationships felt incredibly forced. Especially with Abbie and Rory. The whole time I was thinking she hated Rory and thought he was weird. Then all of the sudden she kisses him and is in love with him? I also feel like with the very real rise of people speaking out about their experiences being at these therapeutic schools, this show did nothing to really spread awareness and overly dramatized it making it feel like these types of schools are unbelievable. Things like this actually happened (and are CONTINUING to happen as I write this!!) and in my humble opinion they made a mockery of it. Thanks for this shit show Mae Martin.
