Smarter movie than I anticipated! Everybody should watch both movies, if you thought 'God isn't Dead' (fallacious junk) made sense you probably won't like it. I wasn't raised to 'believe' anything so it's cool to think for myself.... (read the bottom if you're religious, I'm not being offensive I promise).
Low budget, it's a movie for free thinkers, philosophers, ponderers like myself. Very few inaccuracies as far as history (if any?) and religion and philosophy etc; even science(s). (It's just a movie lol!)
Bury your cognitive and confirmation biases, or be offended, it's up to you to appreciate.
It's a philosophy, science and history mash up that asks many questions, it BEGS them, unless you KNOW as too many claim to still in 2020. So if you 'KNOW' your local religion (there's been over 5,000 religions since mankind began after all) has all the answers expect to be offended. Instead open your mind. Just try... nobody knows. That's okay IMO.
*I watched the second movie, low budget again yet that's not AT ALL what makes a thinking movie. It's pretty captivating. Even the 'smartest' of us would agree he's compelling, thought provoking.
Again proving religion isn't needed to be good people, 95%+ anyhow.... (there's evidence some may need it, plus we see how more than thought resort to harmful ideology.. hear me out and/or look into it). I appreciated that for sure as an Agnostic. Well.. I'm Atheist (definitions.. labels..) as well, as nobody knows therefore how can we lie to ourselves with 'belief', people call it faith.. Just saying. Faith isn't belief, it's certainly self deception. Placebo.. I find placebos interesting as I age lol from power stancea to sugar pulls to holding a pillow to our chest when depressed thinking of lost ones or people we love(d). Oxytocine to dopamine etc, in a world where stress (dight or flight) isn't necessary usually and cortisol isn't healthy. I'm not going off track haha...
There's a GOOD reason to be religious and GRATEFUL... seriously.. I no longer hold resentment that came from my youth when I had a few demonize me. Family members... many of us have been through such things. They were only a very tiny percent (and religious people today aren't guilty of other people's crimes like Crusades and it's a fallacy to assume they suppirt THAT, think about it fellow atheists, as you're not guilty either, it's VERY likely all our ancestor were involved in something horrible in the last 200,000 years. OR 1000... ). It's important to not be stuck in those beliefs... and part of growing up, growth in general. Resentment... ungratefulness.. nihilism. It's not "good" or healthy to live like that. Been there. It's a new day. Even our cells change every 7 years or so... weird science. :) #odds #grateful
Please don't mistake my religious sentiment/this review as saying religious people are are dumb. That's anfallacy, there's q lot to be grateful for and living in hatr and nihilism isnchaos. Order is a choice. We make our own prisons.
