I never give movie reviews. Mostly because I hardly watch fictitious television anymore [thank you Gaia!] However, on the ultra rare occasion, I find myself falling into my old ways; gathering and staring back at the big screen in anticipation as it promises endless knee slaps and deep chuckles from unsuspecting actors. There it was- Ricky Stanicky, the newest and most promising Comedy, chock full of unsuspecting actors ready to deliver to me the belly laugh of the century. And deliver, it did. This is easily the funniest movie I have seen in at least 10 years, maybe 15- maybe ever. All thanks to John Cena, of course. His role as Rinehard/Stanicky could not have been acted out more accurately if indeed, deep, rumbling laughter was the goal at hand here. I kept getting Better-than-I-remember Jim Carrey vibes [for some odd reason]; maybe the ultra off-the-wall HILARIOUS lines, which could have only been delivered so delicately BY an unsuspecting actor like Cena. Efron added his touch of calm and collected suavé professional acting skills, giving the movie just enough sentiment to make the storyline memorable. I don't care what people are saying about how "down-low" Cena has "gone" to "get a check"- that is simply not accurate and this (highly paid) role was destined to be played by any ole funny guy. Someone HAD to be Stanicky! Thank GOD it was John Cena, because he really made it all worth while. Thank GOD also that Zac is back after his accident and has bypassed the public scrutiny he has faced from it. He still looks Hollywood amazing and is more on top of his game than ever before! The rest of the cast was perfectly selected as well. As many have mentioned, I also had to actually pause and rewind several times because of overwhelming, loud laughter making it impossible to keep up. You don't get this kind of laughter anymore these days. Grab it up while you can! Special treat- William H Macy. As a long-time Shameless fan, I will never NOT love Macy. His role was excellent and hilarious as well- and as expected from one of the GOATs.. Don't miss this chance to laugh!
