I started playing this game on/about 26 Nov '04. Back then I would have given this a 5* rating based on enjoyability and creativity. It was a world of wonder; interactions and exploration. you hand crafted your own tools, you discovered many different animals and built a virtual relationship with many different cultures of NPCs.
As time progressed and new expansions came out, the graphics got much better, but the storylines began to blur and as of the last few years, Blizzard decided it was much more important to develop Social contracts for "Inclusive; DEI (Diversity; Equity and Inclusion)" models which have nothing to do with the game itself, rather than focusing on content. There are many interactions now within the game that should have Parental Oversight for minors.
As for playability, Blizzard has a very Long history of ignoring the community when asked to fix/repair broken content (quest's for example) or major zone issues. With the loss of the Original creators', much of the content has seriously gone down hill, and with massive price gouging on content; items and xpacs, along with one of the biggest issues for players being the constant removal of flight after it was earned because of the ever-growing need for Pathfinder in every expansion.
I would not personally recommend World Of Warcraft for New players' because there is 20 years currently worth of content that the players' will never get to complete; to understand the backstory to begin with in light of Blizzard constantly 'pushing' new content along with some of the, IMO; 'Vulgar' content portrayed within.
Most of the community are wonderful players', along with many of the 'GMs (Game Masters), who provide help/insight, the unfortunate flip side to the great people is that there are also many very foul individuals who have found their way into our gaming world.
I wish I could say better things about Blizzard/Warcraft; but this is my personal honest opinion through the many years of experience here.
