In addition to the (misguided) choice of musical scenes, the movie lacks substance. The characters begin and end nowhere, with no development, and what we see is a failed and cowardly man, who after being reborn as the Joker, was simply afraid to admit his own madness. Very different, and in no way related to the feared and megalomaniac villain from the comics. The villain Harley Quinn is nothing more than a romantic prop, with no purpose, wasting Gaga's talent.
