Loved first few episodes. Like other viewers, felt the constant switching between eras confusing. Difficult to distinguish who was who in flashbacks. Wanted very much to care and understand each character’s story, hoping subsequent seasons (there is so much more of the novel to cover) stay in one time period longer. And did no one else find it frustrating that many subtitles flashed so quickly they were impossible to read before next character spoke?! No excuse for that. Team Pachinko needs a pep talk so that all aspects are up to the quality of the acting, the cinematography, and the novel.
