For a person who has not read the novel so far, this is an extraordinary movie. For those who have, the pain and deeper emotions are irreplaceable. Still, this is an unmatched piece of art and Prithviraj's performance is certainly his magnum opus, making critics of his acting take back their statements and say that he has indeed acted finest and the portrayal being world class in this movie. Though the first half drags a bit (essential), the second part compensates for it. AR Rahman's music, Resul Pookutty's sound mixing are exquisite. And the cinematography is icing on the cake, not to mention the other actors. One can't help but atleast well up tears while watching this. Surely an Oscar deserving movie from India. I watched this movie at IFFK 2019. A very engaging political thriller that leaves you satisfied at the end. Exposed how extremist and ultra-nationalist views and their endorsement can lead to destruction. Recommended 💯

Truly disappointing. With lots of loaded 'mass' scenes and dialogues, over inspirational, senti talks, Atlee could have really done better for his standards. A movie solely for hardcore Vijay fans. It wouldn't be wrong to say that the movie almost kills football with the numerous twists and turns. In short, it could be called a tiny form of Shaolin soccer. However, it is engaging mostly except for the romantic parts and seeks to promote sport and women's dreams. Vijay has done fairly well. So did the rest of the actors. If you ask me would I reccomend I'd not very much. You could rather watch it on TV. Thanks
