Somewhere between CoD and Apex you get a super mutant called Battlefield:2042! The single most mind bendingly awful Battlefield game, hands down. I'll make this brief since it looks like DICE spent 70% of their dev time on maps. This game runs terribly, stuttering, low framerate, it's just not going to run well on anything because; the game is bugged and janky as hell.
My character model felt like it was constantly deciding whether he wanted to be corporeal or not every 8th of a femtosecond. The weapons and attachment swapping system can be nice but the overall gameplay just doesn't make up the difference. Sometimes it can feel almost like an old battlefield game, but those moment are fleeting and hollow. It often began to feel like there was no way to progress, like no matter how much time I invested it'd never get over the glaring issues this game has baked into it.
There's no plot, something about global warming, something about mercenaries. No campaign so who cares, the backdropbis some crypto investors wet dream of the future. It's a hero shooter now, because I guess it has to be. The menus have only trailed slowly backward toward levels of clutter and frustration I never thought possible. EA should just kill off every licence they have, by 2023 they'll just be the "Dead Space and Madden guys" and the world wont miss out on anything else of note. Battlefield is dead. Pack up your defibs, I don't there's any coming back from this mess.
This things been out for a year, I can only see the writing on the wall and no GamePass release will bring your playerbase back.
