As a young girl, I read all the books about Helen Keller & Annie Sullivan. I was fascinated by them. When I heard about the film, I wondered how they were going to be able to do it. When I saw it, I was amazed at all the emotion that rose up in me, seeing the drama I had read played out so perfectly. It seemed to me that they caught it all. This had to be a very dramatic & difficult movie to film & even to watch, but they caught every single bit of it. It is amazing. Truly, Anne Bancroft & Patty Duke were able to show very difficult, raw emotions. The movie caught them as much as, if not more than, the books. It was truly as close to how it actually happened as possible. I was amazed. It’s on my list of movies I’ll watch whenever I see that they’re on!
