*Spoiler-ish WARNING* The jumpstart of the movie is a pretty ridiculous. I am aware of the black Friday trampling in real life that occurred a long time ago but this was over the top. The killers motivation is ok, but the reason is stupid. They want to punish the cast for "taunting the customers" but only 1 of them did, not the entire group. The killer also, being who they are had responsibility that night they failed to do. The connections between each character as friends or couples feels pretty basic and inauthentic. All the characters are dumb but occasionally become smart for a moment. I don't mind the campy feel, that wasn't the issue. The movie doesn't even allow any real time to digest and feel connected to any of the characters. Also, the killer being who they were was my 3rd guess since the movie began. It was either Ex Boyfriend, The cop or Hidden person connected to the event. Although the main character lost people, it was friends and the step mom she hated. Her actual family was not harmed and she still kept other friends vs some of her friends who lost their life and family, or lost their girlfriend for example. People also seem to not care who dies post death, only in the moment they are shocked for a second but after it's like....ok cool they're gone but whatever. Characters gf gets disemboweled and fingers cut off in front of him and it's "What do I do main character?" and after that, Dude seems to not even be torn up about it lol If I went through all the foolishness I'd be typing all day.
