Don’t know if reading the book prior to viewing the film makes a difference. I read it not too long ago and everything needed to stay in the movie. The love story between Ernest and Molly was nicely developed which wasn’t detailed in the book. It is a long time to sit through. No coffee or soda prior.
Lily Gladstone makes the movie possible. And when I was reading the book I wondered whose story would be told. Sorry to say it wasn’t Molly’s but her deceptive greedy murderous husband that the over three hours was spent on. I know Marty you tried to tell this untold important story of the Osage people but it must be still difficult to fund and produce such a film.
Gladstone steals each scene she’s in and Leo’s turned down jowls should get some kind of screen credit.
The music used in the opening scenes I thought was brilliant. Kudos to the composers who contributed to the film
Still go see it and come to your own conclusions on how stories of Native people should be told
