This is more of a Black Live Matters film than a Sopranos movie (btw I am all about equality but why try to make a political statement out of it when this was supposed to be a movie explaining the beginnings of the DiMeo family) unless this film is the intro to a new show about black gangs (which would be an interesting idea on its own..no need to lean on The Sopranos) I don't understand what the hell happened....I absolutely love The Sopranos and was lucky enough to enjoy the show whilst it was still on air...so I was really looking forward to this film, however, I must say the writing was just lazy and the stories meaningless...Sil is basically a cartoon, Paulie is shown like 40 secs...Johnny Boy Soprano might as well not being in the film...Michael Gandolfini was great! but had like 15 minutes of screen time...Vera Farmiga? Excellent, no complaints there...Uncle Jun? Embarrassingly left in the background...Ray Liotta? Just horrible and cringe worthy...the dude Howard who basically is a nobody kills an associate, kills a made man, shoots at the DiMeo guys, walks around with a shotgun like Terminator and ends up moving to a white neighbourhood whilst loaded in money and succeeding in his criminal activities, no revenge...we get it...blacks have been oppressed and now they are rising up, how is this relevant to the story of Dickie Moltisanti and Tony? ..and I won't even mention how stupid and tacky the ending was...honestly? this was pretty much a waste of time...and I hate to say it.
