I’ve had this book in my library for a number of years and finally decided to read it. It is amazing! I live in Tucson, have volunteered with Victim Witness and worked in the South Tucson area and still live on the ‘south side’. I felt like i ‘knew’ all of the people they interviewed and the author was really able to articulate the feeling of the area and the spirit of the people. I see it was published in 2007 but many of the issues are still alive but when I drive in the area most of it is so much better. I will be encouraging my friends to read this and learn something about our area! I may even want to check out what is happening in that area now and see if there are ways to help with the forward movement that seems to be occurring. Thank you Mrs. Glittenberg!
