Great show, wrong name - the title was a bit misleading. Yes, they were expats, but it was a such a niche group - i.e. the super rich.
A few issues with the storyline.
I'm sorry, but if my son went missing (and if I had the kind of money and connections that these people had), I would have a much bigger police involvement, or private detectives, putting up posters, newspaper adverts, checking the usual routes for people smugglers. It all felt a bit "Oh, he's gone...my life is over, but there's nothing we can do." They did hardly anything to find the boy - he was taken somewhere by someone. Any family would blanket the place with his face.
Secondly, the ending (spoiler alert coming up...stop reading now if you haven't seen it). She just decides to not get on the plane...ok....and do what? Wander the streets of Central? Go back to the market for the 5th time? Was she going to live there?
Thirdly, the ama...she was ALL set to go home to Phillipines, and then she just puts money before the family and goes to New York? I don't think so.
It needs a second series.
Oh, and by the way, what kind of mother puts their toddler in the HALLWAY as a punishment? Yeah...that's going to work...
