Matthew “Matt” Hirning

A very entralling book that does not use the typical selfish, bratty, main character ( cough, Katniss, Tris, cough) and that made this novel very fresh for me. A complex, compelling plot with cool action scenes really grabbed me. Another thing I will talk about was how fast I got into this book. I found the memory problem very refreshing and unique, and did not repeat leaving a poverty home like other YA series I can think of It is always nice to have a fun sci -fi flick that is not a Love story.

Honestly, I did not hate this book, even though I hate YA. The premise was interesting, some characters were worth learning about.

Yikes, this book was TERRIBLE. What an horrible way to end a mediocre series. I do NOT recommend to people, or, well, people who aren't teenage girls or boys obsessed about romance.

Unfortunately, this book was even worse that the last one; an absolute slog to get through. Why Did I read this series, honestly.

Honestly, I will be in the minority: I didn't like this book. I really did not care about the characters or the writing style at all. I remember this book being highly recommended to me. I just did not get the hype with this book. In my opinion, this is an extremely overrated book. If you like it, however, awesome. It just did not float my boat.

An enthralling book that really gets you ready for LOTR. I would highly recommend starting with this novel first before moving on to LOTR. I wish I had done that 😆

A really well developed story; I cannot wait to read the sequels.

I remember enjoying the first half of this book, but oh boy, is it abysmal or what. A Lord of the Rings clone would be a kind description. This book took me too long to read. Boring. Dry. Uninspired. You name it. Thankfully the second book was much better and much more ORIGINAL.

A very solid work of fantasy and my first exposure to Sanderson.

Unfortunately, this is my least favorite Stormlight Archive novel. It feels stretched, and it could have used some trimming. The tone of the book Felt bland to me. The Taravangian plot was interesting at least.
