The only reason I gave this tired, boring, rehashed Dracula (enough already) 2 stars is because of Bill Skarsgard, his performance was fantastic. The costumes and sets were good too, but nothing like gangs of new York, which came out decades ago, I expect more. The dialog drags like a sack of fetid corpses, and nepo-baby actress Lilly Rose Depp is horrible, dare I say, unbearable. This movie could have been better if it was 45 minutes shorter. Long, boring, bland....and there was none of that feel from the original. Just another Hollywood trash film. Spare yourself and skip this one. It's hot garbage.

I thought it was brilliant, beautiful, and sad. This movie is very cerebral, if you're looking for a horror movie where Adam Sandler is trapped alone in a space ship with a giant spider and they fight to the death, this ain't that. This is a deep, well written movie about admitting hard truths, self revelation (catharsis) as well as a giant alien spider that's 14 billion years old befriending a skinny human. I will watch this again.
