Hung on every minute of it; it is inspiring. It’s about time we see a film that really shows & honours the courage, humanity & suffering of the Viet vets... ‘I’m a refugee in my own country’. Also it moved quickly under tight, tense direction. And the CAST is a treat: the late William Hurt, Christopher Plummer, Samuel Jackson with his great voice, Ed Harris, the late Peter Fonda... wonderful to see them. The performances are emotional, but so what? So is the subject and content. The fact that it’s based on a true story re the awarding of the Medal of Honour makes it even more profound. Yes, it’s a carefully unrolling American ‘journey of the psyche’ for the young lawyer, but I found it extremely moving. I’m so glad it’s out there, this movie: it deserves a worthy review. I’m old enough to remember. Thanks.
