It's a gripping, hopeful story but unhelpfully portrays almost all the Germans as demonically psychopathic and utterly evil to the core. The reality is there will have been nuance and variety, which you do get in some films. This production by contrast takes a rather childish approach of baddies versus goodies which gives an unhelpfully unrealistic view of war.
