Not quite what I expected darker and grittier than I had anticipated. But an interesting origin for the villian and a nod to the established back story of batman. Thought film should of ended with the release of Joker and the aclaim of the Gotham citizens.

Didnt fancy this film until i saw the trailer. Then I decided that it wasnt going to be about a man in bandages so made a point of going to see it at the first chance. And it was worth seeing. A little long in the initial setup in the safe house but after that paced well. Some sudden violence but generally not too over the top. A good thriller. Elizabeth Moss plays a really good role.

Yes everything all the other reviewers have said is true, but the screening I attended had the most restless audience I had the misfortune to encounter since The Man Who Fell to Earth! So I conclude a character study that didn't hold everyones attention.

Not having seen any of the previous Grudge films, but knowing of their reputations I had higher expections of this effort.

Thin on scares however wife enjoyed it.

Compelling story comprehensively told. Great character performances from all lead actors.

The less you know about this film the better. Just go and see it!
