To make them more sympathetic, the poor family was not portrayed as professional con artists, and yet, they were able to clean up their appearance and demeanor to fool a wealthy family completely with their scam. In particular, the daughter from the poor family looks like a super model and acts like she has a degree in child psychology. This would not be possible unless they were professional scammers, which they were not. So the director of this movie is really scamming the audience, asking us to have sympathy for a poor downtrodden family, that behaves like professional criminals - but he is assuring us they are are just innocents who just happen to scam like champions. I didn't buy it.
