Joaquin Phoenix did a really good job portraying the directors vision of the Joker. But I was not impressed overall with the movie and the construct of the character. Warnings were posted in the theater stating about the gore and dark content. Seriously I found it mild, and there was more gore etcetera in the Final Destination movies. My advice wait and get the DVD. Overly hyped up money grab most likely to offset anticipated losses.
