I enjoyed this so much more than I expected! The story was good and filmed so well. I was so surprised and pleased that the cast had the ability for drama and comedy. Every character, at some point, made me chuckle; but notably,(and much appreciated), laugh out loud, scene stealing performances come from the following.
Jeanine Mason and Troy Iwata, as Hyacinth and Brad, stole EVERY scene in which they appeared, no matter how brief. I was in stitches.
Jack Reynor as Tommy-he was stellar! No matter the scene, if he was in it, you knew it. Loved him!
Donna Lynne Champlin-I can’t tell you how many times I had to stop and back up 20 to 30 seconds because I was laughing too hard to hear what was said. Exquisite comedic timing! And thank you for looking like a real person! To me, the lack of the accoutrement means the spotlight is on the acting. I would think that nothing short of terrifying. There’s nothing to distract the audience. One of the best performances I’ve seen in quite a while.
The rest of the cast was enjoyable and played their parts well. I’m a little older so I was less interested in the intimacy (Although I couldn’t help, but notice every man in this film was unbelievably sexy) so how the story is told becomes very important. I’d love to see this as a franchise sort of like American Horror Story. Bring these books, using the same cast, to life. There are so many incredible stories to tell and I would love to see this cast again,
Thank you to everyone involved! I’ve been sidelined with a back injury for over two months. There’s not much that’s interesting and has the ability to make me laugh. You did a beautiful job! It really means a lot ❤️
