Lessons learned from this move:
1. Don't make a scary and adventurous movie have a subtle Korney tone, it just ruins it...
2. Don't take an unhinged, hormonal teenager that has a loose grip on responsibilities to a very dangerous place where there's no room for error. (For instance, you may as well opt for drunken capt. Jack sparrow to adventure down there with you with all his crazy shenanigans).
3. If you know there is a storm coming 2 days later, don't just simply ignore it until it's actually come and it's too late to leave the cave.
4. Don't class characters as professional / best in their field when - in an environment where 99% meticulous perfection isn't good enough, yet allows for problematic points made in #2 and #3.
5. The worst way to suffer death is by drowning. Yet, it was their default way to give their fellow pals the way out when they were in trouble. Hate to cut my leg down there, I'd end up having someone holding me under until my arms stop waving around... geez
I didn't see this movie in 3D, but I bet it would have been cool, so on that, it gets 3 stars.
