TLDR: The writers just thought “more teeth” and called it a movie. The film’s pacing was great. But the plot felt weak and underdeveloped. It feels like the writers had two different directions they wanted the film to take: one where there is a mercenary on a mission to collect dinosaur DNA and another where a family decides to take an illegal tour near the dinosaur’s island (similar to Lost World). So, they decide to combine the two. But the final plot was mediocre and didn’t develop as well as it could have had they just focused on one simple plot. And the dinosaurs seem to just pop in and out seemingly at random to remind you it’s still a Jurassic movie. “More teeth” can’t hide bad/lazy storytelling.
